President Trump celebrated what he called America’s heritage of faith, family, and freedom, as he honoured evangelical leaders at the White House on Monday. The US president said his administration is protecting religious liberty and listed several steps he has taken since taking office.
He added that he’s standing with religious believers because he knows faith and family are the centre of American life not government and bureaucracy. President Trump has been supported by many high-profile evangelicals since announcing his bid for the White House including Jerry Falwell Jr. The president has credited evangelicals in helping him win in 2016 and looks to build on that momentum in 2020.
