“Rescue those who are being taken away to death; hold back those who are stumbling to the slaughter.” Proverbs 24:11
We encourage Christians countrywide and worldwide to set aside time on 16 October 2018 to pray for unsaved people.
Make a list of 10 or more unsaved people or people that are not in a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. Pray for your unsaved family and friends, but also colleagues at work or other individuals you know. Remember to also pray for atheists and people from other religions. Use passages like Luk.5:32, 2 Pet.3:9, Joh.3:16, Joh.1:16-17 in prayer.
Also…
- Consider fasting and praying on that day by skipping a meal or two.
- Ask your friends, Bible Study Group, local church or existing prayer groups to join us in praying for the unsaved.
Resources
Read this article (also available in Afrikaans) for more on how to pray for an unsaved person, as well as the article about how to specifically pray for unsaved family and friends.
You can also read testimonies of people who found eternal life through Christ. May they encourage you to persevere in praying for unsaved individuals.
For God so loved the world
God is very clear that He does not take any pleasure in the death of the wicked, but He desires that they shall turn from their ways and live. (Ezek.18:23)
The Lord Jesus said our Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones shall be lost. (Matt.18:14)
The Word teaches us that God is patient with us, not wanting anyone to perish, but for everyone to come to repentance (2 Pet.3:9) and that all men shall be saved and come to a knowledge of the truth. (1 Tim.2:3-4)
May God get the glory for each person who accepts Christ as their Saviour through our prayers for their salvation.
