Congratulations are in order for football-turned-baseball star Tim Tebow. Tebow, well-known for his strong Christian faith, was inducted into the University of Florida Football’s Ring of Honor.

Tebow’s alma mater announced the exciting news earlier this year, but he was officially inducted on Saturday, October 6th during the Florida-LSU game, reported Orlando Sentinel. At the honorary ceremony, Tebow became very emotional during his acceptance speech — giving all of the glory to God and expressing his gratitude to all of his supporters.

“First and foremost, like I always did here, I want to thank my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ,” the Christian sports star began.

“I want to thank my mom and dad for making me a Gator on Day 1. I want to thank all of my teammates and coaches who love me and had my back through everything, through thick and thin. I love you guys,” he added. “And I want to thank Gator nation. I love you guys. Thank you.”

Franklin Graham, widely-known as the son of the legendary Rev. Billy Graham, was one of many who congratulated Tebow for receiving this major honor.

“Congratulation[s] to my friend Tim Tebow for his induction into the UF Ring of Honor!” Graham proclaimed. “Appreciate that you always give the glory to God.”

Graham is a longtime friend of Tebow’s. Earlier this year, Graham also requested prayers for Tebowafter news broke that he had to undergo surgery.

Congratulations, Tebow! In other recent news, a “Star Trek” actress passed away following a long battle with cancer.
