Angus Buchan Delivers Word From The Lord To President Cyril Ramaphosa

Farmer evangelist Angus Buchan delivered a forthright word from the Lord to President Cyril Ramaphosa during the It’s Time Pretoria prayer meeting.

Speaking to the large crowd of believers, who he had earlier led through prayers of repentance, he said South Africa has tried and exhausted many different plans “but today we are going to change South Africa through the love of Jesus Christ.”

But before moving on to a time of prayer for the nation he said: “There is something I need to do, ladies and gentlemen because I believe the Holy Spirit instructs me to do it.

” We are going to pray for the President, His Excellency, Cyril Ramaphosa. ”

Thereafter, when he opened the time of prayer for the nation, Buchan asked those present  to pray for President Ramaphosa and for other political leaders.

But before that he said he had a word from the Lord for the president, with whom he had once spent an afternoon, and who had been expected to attend the gathering but did not make it in the end. ­­­­­­­­­­­­­

“I am so sorry you could not make it today. I would have loved to pray for you on this platform in front of all these people.

“But I’ve got a word for you — a very serious word, and also for your government…our government. I want you to hear this very, very clearly because I believe it is from God. And it is with fear and trembling  I bring you this word, Sir,” said Buchan.

He continued: “In 2 Chronicles Chapter 15 and verse 2:  The Lord is with you, while you are with Him. If you seek Him, He will be found by you.

Two masters
“But Sir, if you forsake Him, He will forsake you. I want to say you cannot serve two masters.”

He told the president that if he tried to please “all those voices out there” he would fail. 

“But if you are going to implement the word of God and if you are going to stand up in parliament and in public meetings and say: ‘Thus says the Lord’, then you will be the next president of South Africa in 2019.

“The choice is yours. Matthew 12 verse 30 — He who is not for Me is against Me. He who does not gather with me scatters abroad… ­­­­­­­­­­­­­

“So you may not put Jesus with all the other gods. He is not an idol. He is alive. He is here and He wants to help you. But you need to acknowledge him and this country will be truly saved. Thank you, Sir,” Buchan said.

At a press conference after the meeting Buchan said his message to the president would have been the same if he had been on the stage with him.

“We are a Christian nation. We tolerate other faiths. But over 80% of this country is Christian. Therefore the Christians need to stand up and speak. We need to read the Bible in parliament daily. We need to implement the 10 Commandments. 

“We need to take care of the poor and needy. We need to be outspoken. We need to pray to Jesus because Jesus told us that if we do that He will bless us. If our president is going to be successful He is going to need to be more outspoken for Jesus Christ.”

Buchan said everybody was happy if one mentioned God, because God was anything you perceived Him to be — even an idol on a mantelpiece.

But when you mentioned the name of Jesus Christ people either loved you or wanted to kill you. It has always been like that, he said.

“We have got to be more outspoken about Jesus Christ in parliament and in the schools and in the universities. And we have got to implement the teachings of Jesus,” he said. ­­­­­­­­­­­­­

Buchan’s word to President Cyril Rampaphosa brings to memory that long before the president made a name for himself as a trade union leader, politician and businessman, he was a Christian leader. In high school he was the head of the Student Christian Movement and as a university student he became active in the Student Christian Movement which was steeped in the liberation theology of the black consciousness movement.
