African Enterprise (AE), a Christian non-profit organisation, founded by Dr Michael Cassidy, has been “Evangelising the cities of Africa, through word and deed, in partnership with the church” since 1961. AE has evangelised millions across the continent of Africa, but there is still much to do with an estimated 350 million unreached people in Africa today.

Active all over Africa
We have grown into a partnership of over 600 staff, volunteers, and friends, representing national teams in ten African countries. “African Enterprise has had a unique and spiritual ministry for many years. It is always a joy for me to recommend this ministry of evangelism, Christian leadership training and the many other facets of their organisation.” – Billy Graham

African Enterprise’s strategic areas of focus include:

Stratified evangelism
AE aims for a city-wide impact, taking the Good News to people wherever they are; from hospitals, schools and homes, to prisons, street corners, nightclubs, and stadiums.

Community transformation
During our missions we bring hope and healing by demonstrating Christ’s love. We also have long-term projects including supporting early childhood development and vulnerable women.

Peace & reconciliation
African Enterprise seeks to bring peace where there is conflict. We were instrumental in facilitating a peaceful transition to democracy in South Africa in 1994 (see Michael Cassidy’s book A Witness Forever).

Leadership development
We actively engage with leaders at every level of society. From local chiefs to pastors and presidents, communities and nations have been impacted by our work!

Youth empowerment
AE invests significantly in young people across South Africa, through our popular Foxfire Youth gap-year programme, leadership training courses, and discipleship.

New team, new leader
Last year, Theuns Pauw joined African Enterprise as the new Team Leader, and he has been on an adventure ever since, both of personal discovery in terms of growing his leadership and ministry skills, as well as exploring the rich history of AE in Africa. Theuns has touched almost every province in South Africa with AE, including a mission to Makhanda (formerly Grahamstown), and Stellenbosch. Beyond our borders, Theuns has ministered in Kenya, Uganda, Botswana, DRC, and Ghana since joining African Enterprise

Saved by grace
Theuns lives with a grateful heart for what the Lord has done for him, in saving him from a recklessly sinful lifestyle to one fully committed to advancing the cause of Christ.

He is passionate about preaching, and his greatest reward is witnessing people accepting Jesus Christ as Lord.

Theuns is a family man, and after ministering, he loves to be with his wife, Charlene, and their three children. If he has any spare time he may go for a walk with his dogs, a ride on his mountain bike, or, if he doesn’t have the energy for that, his motorbike!

Cape Town 2019

African Enterprise has been busy engaging the Church in Cape Town over the last few months, in response to a prompting from the Lord to do a city-wide campaign from 02–16 Nov 2019. We are also excited to announce that the Luis Palau Association has accepted our invitation to partner in this mission, as well as a number of other mass evangelists. AE believes that this mission will be a first for Cape Town in terms of its scope and reach, and that it has the potential to make a lasting impact in the mother city.
